Energy Education Resources For Texas Students

In our modern world, becoming energy efficient is not just a trendy fad that will pass when replaced by the next innovative thing. Energy efficiency is a vital aspect of daily life for everyone, including schools. Not only does saving energy have environmental benefits but it is also cost-effective, and everyone likes to save money on their monthly bills.

At Watt Watchers, we have been helping schools like yours become more energy-efficient, save money, and teach children the benefits of saving energy since 1985. We are a state-sponsored STEM program designed to boost energy literacy in students (grades K-12) and to help schools save money on their monthly energy bills. Our Student Patrol Program allows students to take charge of their school’s energy-saving plan, make sure everyone is following the guidelines, learn about the benefits of conserving energy, and bring those lessons home to their families.  Watt Watchers of Texas is here to provide the assistance schools need to implement an energy savings plan in which everyone can participate.

Learn About Our Student Patrol Program

The Student Patrol Program is truly the heart of the Watt Watchers of Texas. We want your students to join Lil’ Tex and Ann as official Watchers and work to round up the Wasters Gang who are not conserving energy resources. We have templates for your patrol materials (tickets, door hangers, badges, etc.), an 8-page comic to share with your students about the adventures of Lil’ Tex and Ann, and plenty of lessons and activities to do with your students about energy conservation.

By giving students some control in the school, they will feel responsible for the energy saving activities and make sure everyone is following the rules. It is essential that everyone who wants to participate can, so we have made the patrol program as inclusive as possible for all grades and learning levels.
