Watt Watchers of Texas is a state-sponsored K–12 STEM program designed to increase   students’ energy literacy while helping schools save money by reducing energy waste. Originally launched in 1985, the program has been reimagined for modern day classrooms. What will you find? Help your Students Become Energy Leaders

Learning about energy is only the beginning. The Watt Watchers Patrol Program gives students the opportunity to put their knowledge into action by becoming energy leaders within their own schools. As members of the patrol, students search their campus for everyday examples of energy waste, such as lights left on in empty classrooms, faucets running in bathrooms or science labs, and recyclable materials tossed into the trash. Whenever they spot one of these energy-wasting habits, they know the Wasters Gang has been causing trouble! Fortunately, the patrol has the power to hand out tickets to the Wasters Gang while encouraging classmates and staff to make smarter, more energy-conscious choices. In the process, students learn that even small actions can have a big impact on conserving energy and protecting valuable resources.

Adding an element of fun to the program are Lil' Tex and Ann, the Watt Watchers, who work to stop the mischievous Wasters Gang wherever energy or water is being wasted. This interactive storyline helps younger students recognize that small actions can make a meaningful difference.
